http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/1gR0T isn't very relevant anymore because I my be going the APU route unless someone offers better bang for buck. http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/1hzzQ is a much more relevant build.

You can use pricespy to find the best prices on NZ stuff, notice I'm from New Zealand.

Here comes my sad story

I've never had a discrete graphic card, I've never had more than 2 gigs of ram. I have never had a non oem case that I can sit and look at and think "I truly own something that I can show everyone on the Internet without getting shunned for". I have never experienced a game at max res and graphics, not even halo 1. Maybe GTA 3.

My current pc is a dual core Core 2 Duo and it is the first pc I have had with a PCI-E slot. I'm not kidding. Also the first with a Sata drive.

I have never had an OS better than XP.

Those are the reasons I am finally going to build a respectable pc.

Here's my problem, I live in New Zealand. The build I have constructed in part picker is over a grand and if I made it in America it would be 300 cheaper. That being said my budget is 1000 nzd or 780 usd Make this 800 nzd.

CPU: I am seriously considering a APU from AMD just because they are super cheap & offer the kind of power that I need for my current games (Portal 2 being my most graphic intensive game) & also still perfom well with a discrete card especially with CrossFireX but I am worried about the support of that & having to run it without the on board graphics & be punished by the CPU. The APU I like the most is the A10-5800K

RAM: Done. 1866mhz RAM is all I want.

GPU: If I go the APU route then I don't need to worry about this for awhile might get a 9000 series card when they come out.

Motherboard: ASRock FM2A75M-DGS Micro ATX FM2 Motherboard unless anyone objects, fits the cpu, can add a video card, up to 16GB of ram which may be a worry because of 2 ram slots if 1 stick of 8gb dies itd be expensive. Also black & white and epic.

Storage: Just going to get a cheap WD Blue drive.

OS: Windows 8 without a doubt.

Case & PSU: I like the look of the cheaper cooler masters but the Corsair 200R has a black inside & cable management so Ill probably get that. PSU will be something 430W minimun & probably a Corsair. Want reccomendations here especialyl as a future proof thing as I will probably add a discrete GPU.

Now it's up to you guys, the budget is really my max, the cheaper the better but I still want power. I want your advice on stuff.

If you need anything just ask and you will receive.

EDIT: Improved this first post as it was done on my iPad. Now its got good formattign and should be easier to read!

I would like something with more than 2 cores because #yolo, I would like 8 gigs of ram. I wanna stick to a consistent colour scheme because im shallow and like pretty things so if you choose amd it'll be black and red, intel black and blue or if you find a nicer combo that's cool.

Windows 8 is the OS I want because again I'm shallow and like pretty things. It does perform a bit better in gaming and I do like the UI.

The video card will be whatever you choose. I put the 7770 in there due to it being the best bang for buck thing I found after research same with the 6300. I will actually get the powercolour but the his is there cause it was the closest in price.

Probably won't change the case unless you find a prettier one.

Storage is the area you can cheap out the most on as I probably won't spend 100 dollars for an ssd. I don't even need that much storage like 250gb would be massive.

PSU is honestly up to you guys, modular is a like but not really a need will get it if it is a tiny bit more.

Motherboard just has to fit everything, be pretty and not explode even if I turbo a little bit.

Now it's up to you guys, the budget is really my max, the cheaper the better but I still want power.

If you need anything just ask and you will receive.

Also on a greedy note could somebody gift me Arma 2 combined ops so I can play day z? It's 8.50 and I could send you the 2 dollars I have on my PayPal. My steam id is NinjaStyle013/NinjaStyle+

Just a little tip: Try not to write a wall of text. Make use of the text tools you are given here. Like bold and italic text markups and the different list styles.

I barely could stand reading your text.

Thanks man.

@Darell3 I sent Pb an email asking them if they can build a pc based off of a spec sheet or change some of the items in a pre built one.

I also asked if it were possible to send me the pc in parts so I could build it... I wonder what his face would be like when he reads that line...

I just notice you have an extremely similar pc to the one I want, how's the gaming performance?

I can run any good i want at the moment but my GPU is the one slowing my games down ;(. Gonna upgrade to a HD 7770 OC in the near future hopefully.

Wow dude that's pretty much perfect! You found me the motherboard and psu which means im closer to being finished.

I really like that motherboard too why can't manufactures do everything black.

I'm not sure on the vid card and ram, seeing as the colour green is cheap might as well go black and green right?

EDIT: I also noticed that you didn't choose the dodgy sites either, thanks for that!

Ok one thing,

Get an intel instead of amd, and a nvidia instead of a 7770, get something like a gtx 650ti or maybe even a 670.

The thing is though that from what I've seen amd CPUs are still on par with intel in terms of gaming and the 7770 is in the perfect price range for me.

The 760 is a lot better but almost always 500 dollars in nz, the 7770 is around 180. The 650 ti boost is 300 dollars btw. The PCPartPicker link terrytek sent doesn't have a case, and after import tax and inflation + gst in nz, that build becomes much more than 1000 dollar. I would go for the pb tech pc, and if they agree to build you a custom one go with NinjaStyle013's setup.

I don't have an old case, ill be buying one with this build.

I would still like an answer on the APU options... I don't wanna get the 5800K then add a 7770 and find out it sucks compared to a 4300 with the same setup.

The APU will do every game I want though but I would like to ramp up the games and hopefully they announce gta v on the pc. That's when I would add my discrete gpu.

The A10 will perform almost exactly the same as a 4300. If you could wait until the quarter one of next year AMD is coming out with a new line up of APUs that have a great speed boost with both the GPU and CPU. It will also have HSA which will add something like a shared cache between the CPU and GPU.

Back from the dead....

Hmm... This is a good idea seeing as they're also coming out with the 9000 series cards...
