sli titan x or wait for gtx 980ti

I'll be building a complete new rig soon for my first water cooling build and I am almost certain i want x2 titan x but not so sure if i should be a lil bit more patient and wait after the gtx 980ti release (for price, performance)

playing on a Rog Swift for the moment but planning to do the step for a 4k monitor ...

Let's wait and see how 980Ti performs compared with Titan X, but according to my logic 2x Titan X should be better (I could be wrong, I haven't seen 980Ti's specs). Seeing Titan X's specs....

according to rumors 980ti is a cutdown Titan x so if you want all around best performance, go with the SLI titans

Just get another Titan X if you need performance now.

The 980 ti will most likely just be a 6gb, lesser variant of the Titan X, with aftermarket board designs.

How so? The chip going in it has already been confirmed to have a different nomenclature, and the Titan X has the full GM200 chip, so it will be a cut down version that goes into the 980 ti.

Also the Titan X doesn't have any of the previous features of the old titan's, like the double floating point etc.

980Ti might have better value, but pure performance would be Titan X.

The specs that were "confirmed" have a different "codename" for the GM200, if it was the full chip it wouldn't have the same chip name as the Titan, GM200-400

On the TI it's apparently going to be called GM200-310, the Titan X is GM200-400
