Hey Guys.

I currently using an AMD R9 290x in my system, but i have an Gtx 750 ti not being used.

Is there anyway to use the r9 290x as my main card and the gtx750 to run the second monitor?

Thanks

-edit- How would you go about doing it? Drivers?

Possibly, but why would you want to do that exactly?

Having a 2nd monitor connected to the same GPU wont affect gaming performance

yes but you cant run a single program cross screen then, like games. And the Nvidia card drivers will give issues with amd drivers. The Nvidia driver app sometimes just won't launch if it detects CCC running already, so, yes and no, yes you CAN if you're tricksy, but no you can't if you don't know what you're doing.

Yes, you can run multiple graphics cards individually.

Performance does take a hit with added displays however small.

Not true. Games can definitely be spanned across displays running off of separate graphics card although that is generally not optimal.

Not at the same time I don't think, the drivers are a pain to get working simultaneously. You wouldn't get any performance benefit either. Maybe if you render or anything like that, you can use the 750Ti for that while the 290X does other things.

EDIT: Seems like you can, but still, no performance benefit.

It does?

I didn't have  performance hit and never read anything about it..

It could be possible though/

We're not fighting, merely discussing/argueing, it's a forum afterall  :P

Ontopic, I don't see a reason why you would do this. If I were you I would just sell the gpu or use it for another computer.

A bet may be involved.....and $50
