Do you guys think the new Noctis 450 will be making the h440 cheaper?

Aytex

No.

The Noctis wasn't made to supplant the H440, they're meant for completely different use cases. The Noctis is even based off of the H440, you could probably swap the front and top panels if you wanted to.

The Corsair C70 launched at $139, you can get them for $119 now and at one point they were $99 IIRC (to be fair I don't think they're making them anymore.) The Define R4 was launched at $109 for the non-windowed variant, while even before the end of production they were pushing $80-$90. Got mine on sale for $70 a few months ago. The Corsair 600T was $159 when it launched, it was $139 when I was looking to buy one two years ago (which is before any of the new T-series cases came out.)

Mind you, I think the only sale here was the $99 C70.

Pretty sure you're talking about online pricing, from places like amazon, newegg, other online stores, etc...

The manufacturer MSRP stays the same. Just because you can get the case on sale at a lower price on amazon doesnt mean that the price actually dropped.

The MSRP stays the same, but why does that matter? Most people don't buy direct from the companies because reputable retailers tend to sell them for cheaper with no forseeable downsides. It's not getting cheaper according to the company's MSRP and their pricing, but the retailers are selling it for less without a sale when they initially sold it at MSRP, so the price did go down.

The Noctis 450 just came out, it's not a terrible example. Newegg have the Noctis 450 on pre-order for $139.99, same as the NZXT Armory Store.

online retailers like amazon change the pricing whenever they feel like it

it is completely unpredictable

you can get a product for 50% off one month, the next month it costs 200%

so its not an accurate representation of the case price

so if OP is waiting for a price reduction he should just track the pricing on online retailers, because there is no way of knowing when the price will drop based on the manufacturer pricing

I'm pretty sure the H440 will see more sales later down the road but it probably won't have anything to do with the Noctis.
