GTX 480

GTX 660

Currently im using a Radeon 5830

What im looking for?

Gpu 0-150$
Can run 2 monitors running @ 1024x768 (Not Applicable...but id like it to have the power to do so)

Run current games on Medium -Low @ 1024 Resolution While streaming with 0 frame loss.

Runs Cool

..yeah thats about it

kinda wanna get the 750 cause its very cheap. kinda wanna get the 480 but the 1gb of ddr5 kinda scares me on the performance. and the 660 is just umf but bleh.

I need opinions and reviews and help. all information helps. thank you.

You should be able to get better performing AMD cards at the same price

The 660 is the most powerful of the 3, but only if you get a 3GB card because the 2GB 660 has 0.5GB of slow memory. It it also dx12 compatible for performance features.

The 750ti is (apparently) fully dx12 compatible, so it would seem the best option - if it will even be able to handle new features in dx12 without slowing down.

Wait .. 750Ti is ully DX 12 compatible ? What about the R9 270X and R9 280X ? Will they be DX 12 compatible as well ?

should be, 750 Ti is maxwell.

All HD7000 series and newer GPU's will support DX12 according to AMD, but It's a safe guess that only 290/290x/285/300 series would include partial/full support for dx12 features.

Great ... Now I'm torn between the GTX 750Ti and the R9 270X again ... ( R9 270X has back plate ... but the GTX 750Ti does not )

nevermind I was wrong. according to Nvidia website

GPUs based on the first Maxwell generation don't fully support feature level 11_1 and won't subsequently support the full 12_0 profile.

All of our Maxwell GPUs will support the DX12 API. Our GTX 900 series have some new DX features including: Raster Ordered Views, Typed UAV Load, Conservative Raster and Volume Tiled Resources. These new features can be accessed by both the DX11 and DX12 API.

The 270x is much more stronger than the 750 Ti but if you can get your  hands on a 280x, why not?

It's a sizable upgrade, plus another GB of Video Memory. just make sure you have a decent power supply for a 280x.

im see'ing alot of love for the 750 ti...i have a broken 270x which is why i dont wanna go down AMD again but i can go down amd...my spending limit at MAX is 150$ and that includes shipping. i know how to do basic comparisons. the 750ti's really sexy looking. and cheap and affordable. is that kinda what everyones going for? i wouldnt mind going AMD again really. just depends on the price.

I don't think you even need any of the above. At these settings, something like an R7 250X would probably be plenty. Bear in mind that's a rebranded HD 7770, which was an entry-level 1920x1080 card only like two years ago. A GTX 750 Ti is staggeringly overpowered for this resolution.

In my opinion a new monitor should be the priority before investing in a video card to power it, though.

well currently im using a 5830. soooo. its deffinately not powerful enough for me. it staggers at these resolutions...just running notepad on the 2nd monitor makes the fps drop in a game substantually

so im kinda sold on the 750 ti..seems like everyones in agreement with it...sorta. and its strong enough and cheap enough. sooo whats a good brand for one? :I shoppin on new egg currently...ima guess zotec isnt.

I've had both the 750 ti and the r9 270x and I'd go with Amd man it is well worth it you could play at 1080p, and maybe even get one with 4gb vram.. Or get two 980's like I have now those also do the job.

the 270x is 220$ though :/ over my limit
