upgrading to x99 from z97....worth it?

I am looking into upgrading to the x99 platform..I have a z97 with 4770k 4.6 ghz. Worth it or not? I am a huge gamer not so much video rendering

If you really wanted to, you could just make yourself an x99 system to go alongside your z97.

You'd just have to tack on about 500$ to the cost of the x99 components you were looking at.

It possibly would be a downgrade because many x99 mobos have got more features, it would come down to personal preferences and money situations

I think it's worth it if you're running (or are planning to run) three or more GPUs because of the more PCIe lanes X99 offers.

X99 has its applications at which it excels over Z97, but gaming is certainly not one of them. :)
