Choosing a PSU for this build

ormax

Hi guys,

I am building a new PC and the only thing I need to choose is a power supply.

I want to buy it on computeruniverse.net as some of my chosen components are there cheap too.

So my build will be:

Processor: Intel Core i5-4460

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1150

GPU: GTX970, yet to be chosen and bought, very soon as I get some more cash, currently Radeon HD5770

RAM: Kingston hyperX 1866Mhz 2x4GB

Storage: SSD Crucial MX100 256GB

Now, I want a bronze+ PSU, black + white, light blue + a bit of yellow/red acceptable. Possibly a quiet PSU, 20 - 30db's at medium load. Oh and Modular/Semi-Modular. my budget is 50-80/90 EURO

These are some of the ones I think would do the job,

Cooler Master GM-Series G450M 450w

Fractal Design Integra M450 450w

or their 550W variants.

What do you think? Are those worth buying for 50/60 euros? Do you see any other considerable PSUs on

http://www.computeruniverse.net/groups/30000573/netzteile.asp

?

The G450M would be fine.

Can you tell me how exactly does that PSU fit in my budget? and isn't 750 vats way too much for this build?

there is no such thing as too much. it gives headroom for expantion down the road . instead of holding back and having to buy again.

its 120$ cad. probably something like 90 euro

its 85$ cad. probably something like 60 euro

Unfortunately, more like 60 euros x 2 in Europe :/

Parts in USA/Canada seem to be much cheaper

Alright, well it's still over my budget, as in UK they use pounds, so it would be at least 120 euro in Euros.

Maybe can you have a look at what computeruniverse.net has and give me an advice based on their products?

evga supernova g2 750W ?

Much overkill--an oc'ed 3960x with a 970 pulls under 300w at load: http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/geforce-gtx-970-sli-review,4.html

I had one NEX model and it was a literal hair dryer. Returned instantly. I had a 430W EVGA before that and it was silent. I guess sometimes you get unlucky.

Me either actually :P but it's pretty simple, I sent the link straight to the Power supplies, and on the left you get to choose your preferences. and then just scroll down, see the choices you know, but doesn't matter, I appreciate any replay rather than no replay :))

Hmm then I definitely should go 450W instead of 550W even though it's only a 10 Euro difference, do you agree?

yeah. but if you plan to sli or something it might not be the best. although the psu's you have are good enough.

450w would be fine if you're not upgrading to much more power hungry components.

The motherboard doesn't support sli.

just above the list of products their is the order you want to see the PSUs in, choose Preis asufengden, meaning Price decreasing.

also, tick the Kablemanagement, as it will show only Semi Modular/Fully Modular ones, because I want one of those.

Well I am pretty sure it does support multicards, but I won't be likely to go SLI, GTX 970 seems like a futureproof product, that's why I am getting it, to upgrade maybe in 1/2 years or something
