yeah, exactly what i thought, my i7-4790k always downclocks to those voltages to save power when not doing something intensive

You can use AIDA64 to get a ballpark measurement of how much power you are using. Still not as accurate as a socket power meter though.

 

It shows power consumption for both CPU and GPU. You just have to estimate for the rest of your system. Don't forget to factor in PSU efficiency.

This is absolutely normal for the CPU to drop the voltages that low when idle it's because you have intel low power state modes and intel speed step enabled...haswell is really nice. My CPU does that too...

BUT CPU-Z is known not to show the correct VCore therefore i use Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) to double check...this one can report anything about your CPU and it's always correct. You should also use it to stress test your CPU or RAM if you need to.

If u r using this in windows 8.1 i also get really weird results to using it on my processor in 8.1.

Except when it down clocks it also drops the clock speed. Its not doing that. Its only undervolting. I knew all that too BTW. I'll check xtu.

OK. So Intel XTU shows 1.27Vcore, and also says that my processor frequency ranges from 00.00-11.32 GHZ, and is currently running at 0GHZ
