Experiences with non-techies

Yup. Has been there for as long as I have used Chrome OS (since about the beginning of September).

Oh I thought you ment on the tabs. Yea I have that too :P

The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Fox at TAS levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of a match depends solely on port priority. The RPS metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches.

Only Abate, Axe, and Wobbles can save us.

500 POOOOOOSSSSSTTTTSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

a girl thought software is a clothing(soft wear). she answered in class raising hand before me and said "isnt software shirts that are soft?", Oh god why

While it is understandable how somebody could believe that, the only people who I can excuse after saying that are old people, not a girl who has probably spend a considerable amount of time on the internet or with tech. How can you be under the age of 18 and not have heard the word software being used to refer to a computer program?

It could be. We could put it in the same Sub-Section as "Experiences With Jews" and "Experiences With Women".

I need to get my mom to stop using thunderbird. Takes up 330mb runing in backround. Im getting her to switch to opera, chrome/firefox took up 100-200 mb each on the 4gb mac. There was less than 1gb free

So I guess we are going to have a subforum entirely dedicated to experiences with different demographics then...

I remember when I used thunderbird. It was/is shown as taking up 72 gb of storage on my laptop. I quicly found out after installing it that it was pointless to have it as I mostly use/check my gmail on my phone.

Apparently 8 cores means that there are 8 CPUs in a computer.

LOL

1GB free is plenty, and if she had 8GB of RAM she would probably still only have 1GB free. Because of how RAM works and is used, you don't magically get more "free RAM" by buying more RAM and you OS certainly is not going to leave "Free RAM" unused if it has a use for it. "Free RAM" is not a measurement of how good your RAM supply is. If you have RAM, it gets used, if you don't, it isn't used.

My friend is always saying that I have too much stuff open on my Chromebook because I have a lot of stuff pinned... Even though there's a little white line underneath the program if it's running...

When I started using Windows 7 my dad was always complaining that I had too many things opened, it was just the pinned programs...

i'm a potato

But still, lots of things using too much ram. 330mb used for nothing at all (thunderbird)

and firefox and chrome 100-200mb each>?

If she has 1GB free, she's not using too much of anything. If the system has decided that it can spare 1/4 of here total RAM to be "Free", then the system is not taxed in any way.

I still can't tell very well which of my tasks are active. It changes from purple to a slightly lighter purple. I miss when it was Grey and the active one was a nice solid deep blue.
