Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10

TechDookie

So whats the best? I've heard great things about Windows 10, but others have said it isn't the greatest. Windows 8, mixed reviews. Windows 7 seems pretty solid. I've heard nothing negative about it.

What software should I get for my new build?

I have no preference when it comes to Windows ether it be Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit or Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit, they all work great at least they do for me,as to Windows 10 right now it is still in the beta stage until it gets to the final release of it..I am running Windows 10 on one of my PC and so far it has been running great for me.

Anyways I would go with ether Windows 7 or 8.1 until Window 10 gets to a final release, the one thing is if you have Windows 7 or 8 you be able to upgrade for free from what I seen and told online..

If I already had Windows 7 (as I do) I wouldn't spend the money to upgrade.

If I were buying a new license, I'd go for 8.1. It's much-maligned UI issues can be worked around, and the underlying OS has quite a few useful improvements over 7.

Windows 10 looks and sounds like it will be worth having, but we'll see about that when it's released. I'll probably wait a few weeks to see if there are any serious launch issues before I make the jump. We have a year for the free upgrade, so why rush? Early adopters are suckers!

8.1 is the best right now.

I'm sure after the first patch or 2, 10 will be better.
