where do you guys go to download FLACs?

Corruption

Seems like anywhere I look, the pages look extremely shady and untrustworthy. Where do you guys find high quality music files?

Who would have thought piracy download sites would look shady and untrustworthy, it's not like they're doing anything illegal or anything...

You can buy CDs and burn them to FLAC. Some music labels and makers, such as Monstercat, offer their music available for purchase in FLAC as well.

Oh, you were talking about totally above board shady untrustworthy places xD

Can you even buy FLACs? Most legal media is horribly lossy, it's the reason I still use CDs and blu-rays. You could rip them from CD yourself...

Bandcamp has a fair bit of stuff you can buy and download in different audio file types, and you can rip CDs into FLAC files as well.

Okay well I understood some of those words. How would I rip it to flacs? And what's wav and the difference it would make vs flac?

A lot of artists these days are offering your choice of digital format when you buy from their websites direct.  If you are into vinyl at all you usually get the album in digital format (FLAC, mp3, whatever) for free, when you buy the record.
