my 970 plays brilliant at 1440p. Even with my old 950 choking it to death, so yes. It's possible :P

Is it possible to run 1440p on a single card? I want to play games like GTA V,Battlefield, and etc/ AAA tittles.

My pc build would be like $1100 because I need a monitor. Can I possibly get a 1440p build for this much.

I'm not sure what fits in your budget, so here are a few good recommendations:

(Kind of from best, to 'worst')

GTX 970 or R9 290X, R9 290 or GTX 780 Ti, R9 280X (3GB).

That's kinda what you should look at. I would say the R9 280X not so much, as it is more a 1080p GPU, but I'm not sure what fits your budget

I heard the 970 become a problem at higher res because of vram.Never built a pc but looking for better.

The issue is not really a problem at 1440p, but if you don't want to deal with it you should look at the 290X.

It beats the GTX 970 at 1440p+
