I am wondering if buying a titan x is worth it. Since they wont be selling them with aftermarket air coolers the only way to get extra perfomance out of it with better overclock is to put it under water :D Is it worth the extra money to make a custom loop or it is better the wait for AIO solutions, like the iChill, or even wait to see any official announcements of the gtx 980 ti ( or however they will name it , which is said to future the full GM-200 chip and 6gb of vram and probably aftermarket air coolers, hopefully cheaper too )

Price/performance is basically nonexistent and not a factor for the Titan, but it's a very, very powerful card if you don't mind wasting $1k.

As far as the 980 Ti, I highly doubt it'll exist as the same GM200 core, it's going to be severely watered down if it is. It makes no sense for NVIDIA to undercut themselves by so much if they do release it as the full GM200 core.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I would wait for the above or 390X, but if you have or want to spend 1K on a graphics card, then by all means. It's the best card out now, but that could change in a matter of months.

I know but if it can drive most game at 55-60+ fps for 4k it is worth it and g sync will smooth it

I'm pretty sure two R9 290X 8GB cards can do just fine on 4K for less money, but I'm just saying, this card doesn't exactly offer a good price/performance.

If you have the money to blow and you want a single card, this is the way to go, though.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I have two 4GB 290x's and they run 4k perfectly fine, but if he's already got a g-sync monitor he should just get the Titan.

Minibois Cheers :)

I have both of my Titan Xs on the reference cooler to 1378 on core, 8000 on the memory at +24mv...

I get 16000+ in firestrike extreme.

8000 in firestrike ultra.

I can run WoW at 60fps DSR 2x from 3440*1440. (Edit: That's 6880*2880)

I'd say the card is worth it on air or under water. @Najuno

For reference, this is the one I ran while I had other things going.. so you tell me.

EDIT: Correction... this was one I had done some stressing with, that's why its lower.

Well, actually I got pretty decent score in Fire Strike. Around 7000+, but seeing others getting like 15000, 8000+ and such, dang.
