German takes a lot of work, but once you understand the rules its just like any other language.

Not very hard, though it isn't the easiest.

I'm assuming english is your native language. You're going to have to learn a whole heap of grammer rules that are actually in english, but we have so many exceptions that it'll take awhile to recognise them. Then it's just a matter of practice.

Learning German is said to be easier than learning English for example.

But both have their cons and pros. My sister was able to get to B2 in like one and half year, that's what I also plan to do, since my English is C1 level/ILEC level, it's logical to step up the game with another language.

I love German I once tried to learn German, Learned a lot in two days. I also have a partner that knows some German as well. In my experiences, it isn't that hard, but it really matters how determined you are to learn it. Also, I hear that English is a Germanic language. I don't know if that makes it easier or not, but yeah...

See how easy that was?   Just throw on the word beer and stuff that sounds like gunter and otto and you are speaking german.

i wouldnt say its to hard to learn. if you got the ground rules down its pretty simple. although ill admit it can also get pretty confusing sometimes. the biggest problem for me going from russian to german was the pronounciation.

The grammar is tough, but the vocabulary is pretty easy - if you know other Germanic languages.

Overall, I'd say it's on the harder side though. @That Normegian Guy's list is pretty much spot on in my opinion as well.

I'm coming from English, I don't have time to really learn it, but the few dozen basic words I've learned are quite similar to English, I'd really like to try it once I have more time, it seems easy.
