I'm sure it's like mining or folding, a CPU would take that long but a GPU would probably only take a few million years. :)

Plus I have two factor authentication on, it doesn't know that. Nothing could crack it anyway. :)

For my throwaway password: 6 Years.

Important things password: 6 Billion Years.

Not bad.

Edit:

What method does this site factor in?

Sequential figure or wordlist? both?

If it's just sequential, could I set 6 computers working at different ranges to reduce it to one year?

Double it for 6 months.

I've got plenty of spare computers around here.

How powerful a computer does it assume I have anyway?

My machine is pretty powerful. Perhaps I could do it faster.

I'm pretty sure it would only be a year until you log into either Gmail or Facebook, seeing that your account was accessed from some odd place. LOL I would change my password all the time, but when I get one password, I stick with it and then there are like 500 accounts with it haha.

This is for a password very similar to what I normally use, of course, most of my passwords are unique, but they do have the same basic structure, so it's not that hard to remember them.

Well it say it would take a desktop PC about 2 billion years to crack my password to get in to my computer on windows 8.

yea I believe that ... not!

But for my Government Gateway password it say's It would take a desktop PC about 4 minutes to crack your password, why to go the British Goverment has the security of hiding the key to the door under the welcome mat.

I don't think so, I know how secure my password is because no one has managed to crack it yet, never had any issues in many years.

I don't feel right doing this so I'm going to pass lol

EDIT: Also how do they define 'Desktop PC' because there are a wide variety performance specfications and I don't know whether this is for fun or not, a mate of mine still uses a Pentium 4 and I know people still using Core 2 Duo's still.
