Hi,

I'm building a new PC that's optimised for gaming but I will need to overclock, my budget is £1200 and that's including peripherals (a mouse, mousepad, headset, keyboard and two new monitors). I also want to implement a few ROG products. I will also be using the PC to do small amounts of video editing and rendering.

I'd not use ROG stuff on that budget. Especially since you need two monitors.

Get some nice mobo (mobo really doesn^t matter for gaming) and up the GPU rather than spending money on marketing.

Frost upon these cigarettes.... lipstick on the window pane...

I want a mechanical keyboard, prefferably a razer product, and I want to be playing at the highest settings (4K if possible).

You wont be using a 4K monitor with that budget. You wont be able to afford one.

that budget isn't going to allow you to pack a 4k ROG solution in.

i have two ROG 980 poseidons that cost your entire budget.

two GPUs in SLI. they are 4k ready, but you just blew your whole budget on two parts.

you can't do it. you might be able to get an ROG motherboard and that's it. and you won't be able to go 4k smoothly. much less buy 4k monitors.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

premium names cost a premium price. razor, ROG, etc. are awesome, but they do charge a little bit more for the name.

you have some real unrealistic expectations.... you will barely be able to do afford 1 4K monitor for 1200, none the less a machine to run even 1 4K monitor ontop of that.

So! Here is what I reccomend for your budget in order to get the most performance possible.

This is the best you can do with that budget and new parts and being able to overclock. I suggest going used to get what you want without going over your budget. Even then, you would not be able to do 4k or ROG. You might be able to get a single 1440p but that's doubtful as well.

I am wanting a system with custom watercooling, I just don't know the best brands for reservoirs, pumps, blocks etc.

Okay quick question

Do you want feasibility or looks for your machine?

I've got a feeling you want to be able to "show off" your machine to your friends

We can cheap out on every component of your machine, have it perform a significant amount more worse and have custom liquid cooling.

Here's what you get if you want to show off:

You can overclock the CPU to 4.5+ GHz then say you have a 40% overclock

You can overclock the GPU and say you have it overclocked with a water cooler

You have the pointless super good RAM

You have the SUPER OVERKILL PSU with 850W even though you only need 400ish watts

You have a SSD and a overkill HDD for storage

You have a nice looking motherboard and case, the motherboard is overkill too

Have fun!

What about without peripherals, would that be any better?

If you mean £1,200 without monitors, keyboard, mouse, headset, mousepad, custom watercooling and no ROG products. But capable of multi-monitor gaming.
