I'm musing along the lines of why this is when the thing that actually makes us tick, arguably most complex thing in the known universe - our brain - is actually what gives us consciousness and not so much that which is between our leg.

The thing is that the brain is only one part of what dictates our behaviour. It might be the most important part, but it is only one part. 

The brain's structure can also be seen as a product of the same process as the one that makes our genitals.

 

During early development a fetus will begin developing hormons that correspond with the chromosome pair that determines their physical sex. 

Those hormons will determine a lot of both physical and mental development all throughout the life of the person. 

 

This is why you can make altarations to a persons psyche without altering the brain. 

For example, in some countries it is a normal procedure to physcially castrate male pedophiles. That way they lose a lot of  their sex drive. 

Nothing was done to the brain, yet the mind of the castrated person changed due to the main flow of Testosterone being stopped. 

 

I guess what I'm trying to is that you can make some predictions about a persons psyche based on their genitals.

However, it is a very flawed way of doing it, since you can techinically can have two XX-chromosomes and stll have a Penis. 

In some cases people are born with 3 sex chromosomes instead of a pair. It's most common people born with XXY instead of XX or XY.

If a person is born with XXY they will physiologically be male, but come puberty they will begin developing breasts and they will grow little to no body hair. 

And their voice might not change either.

I can not even begin to imagine what such a person will go through in their head.

 

In the end I don't think my mind would chance any which way science point. 

Science might be one thing, but social behavior is different from that. 

I would still be a member of the Church of You Do You.

Is there a specific clinic just for issues pertaining transgender issues? 

I just seems like a strange thing to dedicate a building to just one thing (and a small thing at that).

 

Where I live you would go to a clinic deal with a variety of sexological issues. 

It the same place you go if you're transgender and if you want to be anonymously tested for STDs.

I have had many a fun conversation in that waiting room.
