Is the Cooler Master V8 GTS worth it? 

 

I am currently using an i7-3770 with the intel stock cooler & I'm thinking of getting an aftermarket air cooler. 

Any other recommendations? What about the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO?

Nah if you got that much money get a Noctua NH-D14 but if you don't like the puke brown and vomit tan fans the LED's on the V8 is always nice

Its big and bulky and there are many things that do much better that cost less and are smaller

So in short.... No

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

The V8 GTS doesn't have a great price-to-performance ratio at all. If I recall correctly, it doesn't perform that much better than the 212 EVO. It's more of just an aesthetics thing.

Hyper 212 Evo is more than enough to keep your CPU cool.

It performs similar to the Hyper 212 EVO..

 

The cooler only applies if looks are your absolute top priority.

It probably makes more sense on a delidded CPU because of the horizontal vapor chamber. On chips with an IHS it doesn't do too much.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.
