Should I Buy Windows 8.1 or Just wait for Windows 10?

Hey, Just build my PC today and am wondering should I buy windows 8.1 and then update to windows 10 when it comes out or should I just run the Windows 10 technical preview until it releases and buy a Windows 10 Key?

if the windows 8 key is the same price as win 10, just buy the win 8 key because its a free upgrade

Hard choice in your case. Me personally I hate windows 8.1 and not looking forward to windows 10, apart from DX12.

All windows 7 and 8/8.1 users will get a free upgrade to windows 10 when it comes out. Just buy 8.1 right now and when windows 10 comes out upgrade to it.

I believe it's a free upgrade from Windows 7 as well. 

 

In light of that, I'd say it's better to just wait.

 

EDIT: Well, I suck for not reading the first post. I wrongfully assumed the OP was on Windows 7 already...

 

I don't know much about the capabilities of the technical preview for full-time use, so my advice to wait may not apply.

Yes as said all the uses with win 7 or 8/8.1 has the feature of free upgrade to win 10 so hopefully can go with win 8.1 later can do the free upgrade.

Buy windows 7 or 8, what ever is cheaper for you.

You will get a FREE upgrade to 10 from both 7 and 8!
