Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. I was personally in Science Olympiad during high school. Now I am in ATMAE in college, and we hosted our first First Robotics competition this year. We are already prepping for next years invitational.

From what I saw, most of the robots were basically vex kits (could have been a different brand). I was just in charge of making sure everyone was safe and didn't walk off with stuff from the practice area. I wish that I was able to participate in it during high school. Plus from what I saw there were many more girls involved in First Robotics than there were in SCIO. My school had very few girls that liked science. Most of them wanted to be in drama or cheer leading and wanted to date the football players.

A lot of the second year robots and up are usually custom built or adapted from a kit of parts that first uses. some teams use vex parts, like motors and a couple of different chassis. My team builds there own

Most of it is mechanical, but it also brings communities together and provides speaking skills that can be used later in life, or in school

I've got recently disconcerted of seeing these over-computerised cars being made a lot; however, I hope they would focus more on mechanics than on computerisation.

Anyways, that was great really to achieve such learning.

I don't remember what age group this was. The competition was Cascade Effect. They almost all had something similar to a vex kit (I think it was a different brand though). I think they were restricted to specific electronics for running the program and such. But there were students writing code for them from scratch. I even helped one team out a little bit with an error in their code.

Most schools in science olympiad used vex kits. My school didn't have money for that at the time so we built our own from scratch. The judges always liked ours the best. People using the kits generally had very similar ideas. We used the case of a broken cd drive from an old computer as a chassis one year. Scio was very limited and did not allow microcontrollers for some reason. So they were basically weird remote control things.
