Xbox 360 Media PC

Socky

Hey guys! Just a little update on everything. Just picked up an Xbox for $25 (Working no RROD :D). Took the Xbox apart and got the outer shell. Now to remeasure and re-cut some cardboard!

Gotta take the HDD out of the shell for some fans.

Xbox 360 Internals (Actually works, fans speed up at start and are crazy loud).

I'm curious to see how this comes out. It's hard though to fit a powerful PC into an Xbox 360 case.

There aren't any motherboards small enough to fit in a gamecube.

Small little update or rather larger considering I couldn't upload the full sized pictures  :P . I got the computer in as well as everything else (with an exception of the HDD which is not the HDD im gonnna use). Its not finished yet since the heatsink fan is #1 broken and #2 loud. I also forgot about the power switch (which should come in a week). I also need to make a few more cuts on the shell. I haven't even stress tested the Temps. (couldn't use real temp). Expect an update in a week's time.

I thought it was gona look pretty :(

Me too, but when you're building in such a small enclosure with 2 HDD's and 3 external fans, its fairly difficult. As long as it has positive air flow, which, it does, I'm perfectly okay with it.

couldn't you put some wire mesh where the dvd drive opening is, and where your air holes are in one of the side panels (if you made it square). Then paint it all in a uniform style? other than that all i can say is it could look better but you did well with this small case, and if you feel u improve later on it, you can come back with a new shell and redo the project.

Actually the air hole is for two 60mm fans on the side.

I would have put a disk drive in it to patch up that hole but I guess size is limiting
