Corsair Customer Review Thus Far.

Statik

Hey guys, so I'm working on setting a custom fan curve for my H80i, when I tried to get to the bottom of horribly inaccurate temps on Corsair Link. I learned my "groups" tab was missing a group called "CPU temp" and that was the cause of my issue. So I opened a support ticket for corair, and this has been my experience thus far.

1) I opened a ticket describing my problem.

2) They asked for pictures of my corsair link screen

3) I supplied said pictures

4) They basically told me my temps listed were correct (i.e. 15C while playing Walking Dead, with other programs, etc), and all I have to do is look in BIOS to confirm that.

All replies have been rather speedy, but since I replied, respectfully telling them they're wrong (several hours ago), and listing that my temps are not that low, and at the time they were closer to 35C, and I supplied photos of how my corsair link should work, etc, etc, and they have yet to grace me with a response.

Slightly upsetting for them to basically tell me I'm wrong, when that's far from the case.

Onwards, does anyone have anything that they might be able to supply? And why I'm missing Group 8 in corsair link? Called "CPU Temp"? Reason being I'm trying to set up a custom curve, but I was just playing farcry 4 on ultra, and noticed I was warming up, and while my CPU was at 50, Link thought I was at 35-38, and were running my fans at about 1,250-1300RPM instead of 1500.

Corsair link isn't meant to be a super-accurate sensor. It's supposed to give you an idea.

First... warming up is 50 degrees? I'd say you have a gold chip.

In addition, they only are open x hours, don't forget, and you aren't their only customer. If it's 48 hours or so, maybe... but 4-5 hours? Don't worry.

Unless you're overheating (you aren't), you aren't on the top of the list just because.

The projects never end in my line of work.

Top of the list in what way? Priority wise?

What do you mean I must have a gold chip? You mean good? With Prime95 my temp tapered off around 50-51C. I just hit that in FC4, with ultra graphics. In another thread I made, a guy was showing me a group I should have that gave him a much more accurate temperature. I just want that, so I can set up a fan curve for my Noctua NF-F12s, so I don't have them at 100% on my desktop, and don't have them at 800RPM when playing FC4, etc.

Indeed, priority wise.

51 degrees is very cool for a CPU, quite a good temperature, especially if you're running P95.

Have you updated the firmware? The site eludes to the fact that there are firmware updates.

Yeah, the temps are pretty good. I just want that custom fan curve ;)

I actually never checked for firmware updates. Where would I check for that? :/ I looks like some new corsair link stuff was released the 19th of Feb. I'm going to install that and give it a whirl.

EDIT: Nevermind, updating firmware. Will report back.

It's now asking me for a "firmware file", where the fuck is that? There is nothing in my corsair folder on my boot drive.

The FX-8320 doesn't have a proper way of measuring temperatures, my 8350 on a 212 EVO read 20C, 15C doesn't sound off for an H80i.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

thank you! I updated Link, and then the firmware, and now I have 11 groups instead of 7. The FX-8320 temperature is still quite off, but there is a new group called "Gigabyte Motherboard CPU Temp" which appears spot on with HWMonitor. Thanks a bunch!

I have moved onto a new issue! I have three fans, and they are called as follows:

1) Gigabyte Motherboard Fan 1 (running at about 685RPM) In information it says the max RPM is 692.

2) Gigabyte Motherboard Fan 3 (Running at about 1300rpm) In information it says the max RPM is 1298. I think this one may be my front intake, which is a NF-P12, because it's max RPM is 1300.

3) Gigabyte Motherboard CPU Aux Fan (running at about 2400RPM) In information it says max RPM is 2437.

I don't have the foggiest fucking idea what is what. I have 4 fans in my system.

x1 front mounted Noctua NF-P12

x1 top mounted shitty Zalman LED Case fan (RPM is not listed on the fan, I have one extra beside my PC)

x2 NF-F12 fans mounted in push/pull on my H80i.

I'm confused because A) I have four fans, and three are listed and  B) I cannot change the settings on any of them. The only possible mode I can get, is "default mode" where as before, I had plenty. Do you have any idea? Or should I contact Corsair again?

Like I said above, it's been solved. The temps were accurate compared to the readings I was getting in HWMonitor, which is what I was looking for. My new problem is above a few posts.

Put simply, the link software is measuring temps in the water block and fluid,. Your system is taking temps from the thermocouple built intom the CPU, it will always have a higher temp displayed on it. This is all completely normal, also, i dont know why you're worrying when temps are that low anyways, even at like 80 degrees theres no issue.

Please actually read the topic and posts before commenting.

1) An AMD Chip at 80 degrees is definitely something to worry about

2) I know my temps are fine, and I fixed the temp display problem. I just have problems with my fans now.

3) I want(ed) accurate temps in link, so I could set a custom fan curve.
