this is old news man , most gtx 970's are slight;y gimped on the vram even tho it doesn't make a huge difference for the average gamer

the current list of dead cards is as follows 2 evga gtx 980ti acx 2.0 , 1 evga gtx 980 acx 2.0 1600mhz core 2100mhz ram golden chip card ... failed hardcore , 1 290x that caught fire , 1 hd 7950 .

Thats 3.5gb, not 3.6.

I said anything, not specifically the 3.5gb issue. A lot of GTX 970 owners already reported the issue OP has.

Oh, I assumed you were talking about the 3.5gb deal because you made it sound like a huge thing (like the 3.5gb), but this is one of the first times I have heard of this.

so the 970 is actually ... 3.6 GB card...  way to go to nvidia.... but it is still a progress from 3.5 GB :D

My GTX 760 SC shows 4GB VRAM in DXDiag even if it's a 2GB card :P

Yupp, even my GTX 670 2GB card shows 4GB, this software isnt very accurate at all and should not be trusted.

A little odd isn't it?

 

I rised in eyebrow because it isnt even 2 ^ X as usual... 

 

Same happened few days ago when gpu-z released 0.8.2 version where they corrected ROPs number and Pixel fill rate in 970.

All this makes me think this numbers are reported by hardware or handwriten by folks? Inconsistent... at least.  :ph34r:
