Verizon Fios and SophosUTM or PfSense

Hello, I currently have an HP Proliant DL380 that I would like to turn into my primary router. I have been debating between SophosUTM or PfSense as well and simply looking for a great firewall. The current way my network is set up is imaged bellow. I simply do not know how to bridge the Actiontek router and setup SophosUTM or PfSense to work properly. Please help! post-198763-0-02385600-1426869201.png

Unless you are willing to pay for a full license with Sophos, pfSense is the way to go.

Sophos is free for home use (up to 50 devices, i think). But i use pfsense, its gives you more advanced features.

I'm pretty sure you want to connect pfsense directly to the modem then connect the lan interface to a lan port on your router.

A DL380 for Pfsense? Sounds like massive overkill. I can saturate a 1gbpd up/down connection with a virtualised pfsense box running 1 core at 2GHz with 1GB ram, dedicating a whole giant 2U server to it sounds like a massive waste.

That said PFSense is a superb choice, truly enterprise grade. Have been using it in my home environment for about 4 years now.

I'm on a horse...

Issue is, I have to bridge the Actiontek router since my ONT has a damaged Ethernet port. Any idea how I can do this?
