Get one. People were drooling over them even before the whole thing. They are still great for the price. But I want a Titan X

r290, here in the forums there are alot of mixed opinions

 

fonboyism aside, they are both great cards but at higher respolutions or in heavily modded games like skyrim hd textures and shadow of mordor, the 290x wins

I suppose Titanfall can hit 3.5GB with the settings cranked. I've seen the thread and I have always referred my mates who tell me that games don't use 3.5GB at 1080P.

As far as OP goes, he can always just gimp the settings a bit.

Sure it reaches 3.5+GB at 1080p with decent FPS, I can easily do that with my 290 at 4k, but I think the 970 only stutters when it requires more than 3.5GB vram. A lot of games allocate a lot of vram for who knows what.
