Just look at the Ideas guys. C'mon, be a bro

So, seeing as how a few guys have ideas I figure why not make an umbrella type thread. The one's I've stumbled across have had some hit and miss ideas so think your idea through before spewing "MOAR CONSOLE STUFF D00DZ WTF IZ UR DEELZ!?Q?!!?"

Best I've found so far

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/323157-dumping-out-my-video-ideas/

To recyle some from the above and toss a few of my own

1. A showcase of most popular items from Pcpartpicker, Newegg, NCIX, Amazon, etc (most bought monitors with highest reviews)

2. A "retro" showcase featuring things from days gone by (the physx card review/unboxing comes to mind)

3. A software showcase featuring lesser known or new but most importnatly USEFUL apps and programs

4. A Cheapskate show, monthly perhaps

5. A "Diamond in the rough" type of thing which is a mix of suggestion 1 and 3.

-EDIT-

A dedicated Q&A/Viewer Mail short on super fun wouldn't be such a bad idea

-EDIT v2 electric boogaloo-

Perhaps a sort of "living with it" kind of thing where fans make videos about long term usage of parts/software/gadgets and so on?

I doubt they're actually out of ideas, I think it's much more likely that they're out of time.

I've got to agree. LMG seems to always be doing something, and never having enough time to do all they want to due to the small amount of people they have. With that said, I would like to volunteer to help out at LMG!

Most likely true, but it's more of a "fur dah fanz" type of thing I'm going for, most of us don't watch Linus for the things we can afford, just like people don't watch Top Gear for Ferrari buying advice, it's the raw techporn most are after and the light sprinkling of knowledge that comes with it like the build guides and Tech Quickies. Just planting a seed (assuming they see this) for maybe some affordable consumer grade peripherals and componants content.

  • 4 weeks later...

Personally I would like to see some personal NAS builds or guides with Media PC like capability; partly because I want to be setting my own one up in a few months or so.

As far as why I watch the channel though. I do like watching and seeing stuff I will never buy but I just started work in the industry and they do a pretty decent job of showing what's out there and how good it is. Its more enjoyable than reading spec sheets or talking with tech support for the product. Maybe one day I will do one of the crazy builds (a man can dream right).
