GTX 970 Owners Club

Hi all, I'm running GTX970 2ways SLI on my windows 8.1, just wondering will Windows 10 improve the gaming performance?

Dont see much difference from win7 for me in performance after upgrading to win10. :) 2 way sli config too

Is Elpida really that much worse than Samsung if you can still hit 8GHz on the VRAM?

Yeah, samsung has a much higher performance per clock

Yeah, samsung has a much higher performance per clock

Despite all of the problems and the retarded vRAM layout on my G1 Gaming, the Samsung vRAM is definitely a bonus. Then again my card is one of the earlier units.

How can I fix my card from crashing in CS:GO?

Already flashed a custom BIOS.

I can get a nive overclock that lasts more than 30 min, stable in both Valley and Heaven. It runs stable in 3DMark, GTA V, BF4 and all that games, but it always crashes in CSGO.

Any advice?

Yeah, samsung has a much higher performance per clock

But wouldn`t that mean that Elpida should have higher out of box clock too reach advertised performance?

Below 2000mhz they scale about the same, it's all about drop off.

Hynix at 2200 gets beat by Samsung at 2150.

Samsung has lower latencies.

But stock for 970 is 3500Mhz. Or are you talking about overclocked 2000Mhz on top of stock frequency?

I dont use effective clock speed, 3500 is EFFECTIVE.

Anyway If there was a mystical G1 Gaming with Hynix that would hit 2200 it would get beat by Samsung at lower clock speeds. Perfect example of this is KPE .vs Lightning for 980 Ti.

At stock it works fine.

But I read somewhere that it's something about boost states when the card it's working but not fully, and the card doesn't get full Voltage and it boosts to a kinda high clockspeed because you OCed it but it crashes because the card doesn't have enough Volts

Will try the fps_max 0 in console, thanks.

Thats why I always say to never flash a bios directly, Elpida cards have a different bios instruction set for that type of memory, you bricked your first bios. Try to figure out how to switch the bios using the DVI method.

hook your monitor to iGPU and flash original bios in DOS mode.

I have two 970 , one is still running perfectly and one is bricked. Do I have to use Integrated GPU or could I use another 970 as well? Any good DOS tutorial link? I've tried to run nvflash

with DOS but it couldn't let me run nvflash in DOS
