This is all I can get without artifacts or crashing in Valley.

1649ghz on the core & 2053mhz on the memory at 1.3v

I don't think it's trouble with power & for sure not with temp limits.

This was done in my system as it sits 24/7 on my desk. Side cover on & hardly any sound from the fans.

Just been through all the results on the 3D mark results page.

From what I can see, My score is the highest i5 4690K & GTX 970 (non sli) score on there.

Has anyone had anything higher than that ??   With that combo???

It's mostly i7's & SLI configs that are getting higher scores.

Mid 14k graphics scores are among the highest scores I've seen for single 970 runs.  My highest was a 14407.  That's a really solid run.

Claimed another top spot on the Firestrike rankings.  Decided to do a couple of Ultra runs.  Overall score was 6134, with a graphics score of 6246.  Definitely not 4k worthy, but fun to run it anyway.  = )

Hey everyone, this is my first post!!! xD

My Z97Gaming5 mobo is arriving on this coming Monday and I'm thinking to have a SLI setup with my current Gigabtye GTX970 G1 Gaming.

I'm thinking to get a blower GPU like the ugly

"white&red" ASUS GTX970 Turbo

or

"Ultraman black&blue" Gigabyte GTX 970 Twin Turbo

Because they are way cheaper than the G1 and some said it would provide better airflow for SLI setup... (not sure if it's true)

So, my question is are they compatible? (I do notice they will run at the slowest clock speed)

Have anyone tried this combo before?

Thanks in advance :)

Hello people. Ummm hit me up with a dose of some custom BIOS for 970 STRIX? Can do 1591 core boost with stock voltages... Let's see what more can it do lol.

Strix is hard locked. Only way to get more power on it is with EPower board or something similar.

Yeah but still a couple of watts would be nice. Maybe someone has a modded BIOS for it :)

You can mod bios as much as you want, but the card physically can`t provide more.

Hello all 970 owners,

I'm planning to upgrade from a GT640, I'm considering this or the 960.

The 970 really hits the sweet spot for me with my i7-3770@3.4GHz.

From my research, performance wise it's really good enough for me, I don't need a 980.

But from where I'm from, both cards are a little expensive, is the 970 worth the price difference? Especially with this 3.5gb scandal thing....

Gigabyte G1 GTX 960 (USD 238)

Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 (USD 353)

Price Difference: USD 115

Not planning to go ATI cards since I don't want to upgrade my PSU and prefer cooler & more silent configs.

Thanks in advance!

The performance gap between the 960 and 970 is actually quite huge compared to the usual steps in performance between Nvidia cards, so the 970 is definitely worth it, yes. Then again, if you don't actually need top-end performance and you have great ideas for what to do with the $115.- that you'll save, go for the 960 instead. Or just wait until Nvidia plugs the gap with a 960Ti (which they well might) and avoid the issue altogether.

As far as I'm aware you can't just take the BIOS off of one card and apply it to another without problems, and the whole idea of custom-made BIOS flashing is to copy a series of numbers into your own personal BIOS. What I'd do is just to return the card to ASUS, assuming you did nothing to break the warranty on it.

If you didn't change any settings, then RMA the card.

for those with 1550+ clocks and 1.262v , what are your VRM temps?

I don't run at those clocks or that voltage, but just out of curiosity; how would you go about reading your VRM temperature? Both HWMonitor and GPU-Z only tell the GPU core temperature for me...

Don't know, but cooler is touching VRM's and cooling them.

AFAIK if you don't have sensor, then you can't really tell. I remember some 780ti guide where it was said to add 20°c to core temperature to tell approximate temperature.

Did you placed a temperature sensor between VRM's and cooler?

Got myself another G1 but my memory is from Elpida but my 1st G1 was using Hynix and both are REV1.1

Will it make any difference? How about the Samsung memory?
