Dont bother, I have tried all this before (Gelid + enhancement kit) and ALL the others. They just cant keep the VRM's cool and the cards become unstable. The only option you have is to do a full water block or stick with the stock cooling.

the kraken g10/corsair h55 does a fine job under normal use (gaming).   I think it was @Faceman that had information on this.

only when using furmark.  that is an unrealistic benchmark, temps should never get anywhere near that when used for anything else.  try to find gaming benchmarks that get the vrms hot

Please follow my guide/review. I talks in depth about the G10, VRMs, cooling, etc..

You will be perfectly fine doing the G10 mod.

I also discredit that Puget review because it was not done properly, and is not a realistic scenario.

Altecice, if im not mistaken you had an XFX GPU? Like a 7990 or something? In all my research and time helping people with the G10, you are the only person I have ever encountered that couldn't get it to work, and I strongly believe it is more a result of the XFX design because that is a very problematic card when it comes to VRMs. Just because you didn't have success with it, doesn't mean others wont.

I have Asus 290x's reference design. Couldnt keep the VRM's cool for me at all. 7990 would be different as 290x's produce ALOT of VRM heat.

You would be only the second person that I've seen have a problem with the G10. Just because it didn't work for you, doesn't mean it is bad for others.

Did you try buying a Gelid heatsink kit? An Antec Spot Cool? Did you overclock way too high or have your radiators set to intake instead of exhaust?

I tried the Gelid kit  + 290x enhancement kit. the VRM's just kept getting to warm. I have seen others say the exact same thing.

Too warm or caused instability?

Who is saying the same thing?  I just haven't seen it outside of some XFX 7000 users, who already have a VRM problem because that card is a known VRM problem waiting to happen, or people using Skynet BIOS on GTX 700 series GPUs pushing obscene amounts of voltage into their card.

Too warm and causing instability are two separate issues.  What is considered too warm for you?  From everywhere I have seen, going from stock heatsink to G10, there has been a nice drop while gaming in VRM temps, particularly on R9 290s.
