I'm personally excited for GPU mining. I'll still be in a pool, so my share might become smaller, but coin will come in more often.

 

Anyways, still made 6 coin last night since midnight, even with Windows Update deciding to enable itself and turn my computer off about 3 hours ago.. lol

I'm thinking of putting one of my 290s to mine 24/7 and game with the other.

Any ideas on how to make a mining pool? If anyone knows please share how. I really want a LTT pool.

I'm personally excited for GPU mining. I'll still be in a pool, so my share might become smaller, but coin will come in more often.

 

Anyways, still made 6 coin last night since midnight, even with Windows Update deciding to enable itself and turn my computer off about 3 hours ago.. lol

I think they are mining with GPUs as the CPU miner has been out so long that someone with intelligence and time could have easily ported it over to GPU.

As much as I don't like it happening, I like my chances with my GTX 660Ti much better than my FX-8150. It really depends what you invested more in, and I happened to invest more in my GPU.  :P (though not by too much)

The setup is the same as for the pool version, and on my athlon 760k the hashrate increased from 170-180kh/s to over 300kh/s, although your results may vary.

There are people who have made GPU miners for other altcoins and are capable of making GPU miners for ziftrcoin.Also looking at those 40Mh/s guys, they'd need 50 proccesors to obtain such a hashrate.What company lets you use 50 computers at 100% just to mine ziftrcoins? :lol:

My opinion is that they have a rig with let's say 3 x 290x(considering a 290x can get even 15Mh/s on other coins) and they are making full use of it.

I can see why he was getting so high of a hash due to free trial allowing you to use thousands of CPUs. I'm doing as soon as I get home.

Think about it. Your share does go down, but blocks get completed quicker. Quicker blocks with a guaranteed share means you get less money faster. You might make less in a day than normal, but it shouldn't be significant. Hell, you might make the same or more!

That's true. It all depends on everyone else compared to you. If you have a relatively better GPU, you make more overall, if you have a relatively worse GPU, you make less overall.

I completely understand the logic behind both these points. I was just pointing out the potential advantages of it :P  And who knows, maybe there will be a pool that restricts to CPU only. That would be neat and beneficial as well. People with less powerfull processors could still have a chance to gain a fair bit of coin!

Well, the overall value of the coin would still go down as one pool doesn't regulate the exchange rate.

Not if Ziftr holds their claim to a minimum $1/coin. While you might be restricted to buying through their site, you have a guaranteed minimum payout. I've already found a few neat items that I plan to pick up once the system goes live :D
