How does Amazon work?

1) Companies send their items to Amazon - Amazon will fulfill the order and be the one that sends it. This makes getting items faster to the buyer.

 

2) Companies put up their items to be sold like a market place and are the ones that will fulfill and send the order

Sorry to evade your question but that drive isn't really good for the price at all. Please consider something else.

I personally have this and it works beyond rated speeds, usually 50mb writes. So it's cheaper and significantly faster. Corsair stuff is almost always overpriced.

Amazon is kinda like ebay but it usually focuses around businesses rather than individuals and usually involves less risk... Well that's how I see it anyway.

Amazon is a reseller so you can buy products directly from them.  They also allow third-parties to sell items.  The third-party system works more closely to eBay.  If they choose to do so, third-parties can join Amazon's fulfillment program in which Amazon takes a fee in exchange for handling shipping rather than directly from the third-party.  Fulfillment items also include Prime shipping.  Third-parties who do not take part in the Amazon fulfillment program do not qualify for Prime shipping.

I bought mine 2 years ago, exactly zero speed degradation so far. But I am biased against corsair.

Amazon hardly buys items for resale. Majority of it is marketplace items

Amazon lets you rent warehouse space. You send your products to them, they hold onto it for you (as long as you keep paying them), and if a customer places an order, Amazon takes care of the shipping. These products are clearly labeled as "fulfilled by Amazon". 

 

There are other third party sellers that aren't fulfilled by Amazon. These items are shipped directly from the company that's selling the item. Amazon doesn't play the middle man in these scenarios, and generally, the business doesn't have to pay Amazon too.

Uhh...drives dont really need to be water proof. Just dont plug it in while it's wet and it can survive through water.

And shockproof? It's not like there are moving parts

Yeah but pretty sure if I bang something else it multiple times it will break. Water proof is just an extra protection.
