I dont want life stories or a war on how intel stomps amd or vice versa. Just wanted to see what majority of people would go for.

 

your budget is 800$ canadian money. Just leave a vote in the pole on what you would go with in that price range, you can also put what cpu youd choose in the replies.

 

JUST PLEASE NO WARS ABOUT HOW AMD IS BETTER OR HOW INTEL IS BETTER, THATS NOT THE POINT OF THIS THREAD.

 

Id probably go intel i5.

As with every single "Intel vs AMD" thread, the results are always the same.. Intel will beat AMD in your poll, but not by a lot. That is because they are both great, and each have their pros & cons, strengths & weaknesses. That simple. And, there's your answer.

I don't know, I'd say Intel are beating AMD by quite a bit so far, with 76% of voters voting Intel so far (as of writing this message.) Not saying either is bad, just stating a fact.

Generally I am more of an Intel fan, but it depends on what you will be using the rig for. If it's pure gaming, amd might be better depending on prices for the gpus, since gaming is mostly gpu-bound. If daily computing, browsing, media consumption is the goal, definately intel, cause no gpu needed...

TLDR: depends on the usecase and pricing.

Eh, I'd agree but Intel chips are starting to saturate that top spot, that being value for the money. An i3 is comparable in both price and gaming performance to an FX 6300, all while consuming less power and playing nicely with low end boards (the low end boards on AM3+ tend to have VRM throttling issues because they were never really made for the FX chips.)
