What's wrong with EA Origin

Janssent11041

I've seen a lot of hate on origin on the interwebz so could anyone explain why?

I'm personally a big fan of the way you can organize your games and the way they show the box art.

I even prefer that way over Steam...

People hate(d) Origin because their games are now on tow separate DRM platforms. Two separate friends lists. Two separate programs to run in order to play your games. The program was a resource hog when it launched, and it had a lot of connectivity issues.

Because Lord Gaben didn't make it...

EA Has had a bad record, which they've completely turned on, yet not too many people have noticed... Oh well, I think EA has figured out Origin rather well; perhaps better than steam?

It's broken. People have so many problems with it.

I have never had an issue with Origin. None of my brothers have. None of my friends have.

I actually like their support more than Steam.

I think you should of rephrased that to "Origin actually has support, unlike Steam"

Origin sure started off better than Steam did.

What a horrible piece of shit Steam was.

All the youngins here most likely have no idea :)

Origin was crappy once, but it's fine now - relative to the hours that I've used it, it has about a bug rate as low as Steam's. I don't much care for the UI or the store layout, but that's personal opinion.

Uplay, on the other hand, is the piece of crap. :P

Steam is more user friendly and backing up games is easier IMO. And there's no DRM bullshit.

True dat

But I don't back up my games so that isn't a problem either

The only problem I have is that I can't rearrange/reorder my games...
