The only time you will have a problem mixing drives is if you are doing some form of a RAID set up, but if they are set up separately(JBOD) then you will be fine(you could use whatever drives you want really).

Yes your fine, it's better to use the drives in their ideal environment, like the green are better as backup drives instead of normal use where the Blue or Black would be better.

Hi there @CDHoward!

 

You can use both drives in the same computer with no problem. Also, I would recommend to use them as a stand alone drives and not in a RAID array.
