So, I recently transferred from my Xbox One to a gaming PC because I couldn't deal with the fact that I had to play games at sub 1080p, under 60 fps. I'm in love with my new PC, it's not the most powerful thing in the world but its certainly more than enough for what I need it to do. But I do have a ridiculous problem, that I cannot seem to play. Now, just for some context on the Xbox one when I used that bearing in mind I hadn't played a game in over a year, I had a 2.7 K/D on Advanced Warfare and I could seriously kick ass. On the PC, I have 1.17, and I can't aim for shit. I thought maybe the players are just better and so I then decided to plug in a controller to test that idea and even though I only had a PS4 controller laying around, I managed to get back to my old skill level.

So my question is, would a better mouse help with aim in a game? My current mouse is a piece of crap OEM Acer PS/2 mouse and my keyboard is a Razer Marauder...Thanks Guys.

Using a mouse is just very different and some PC players do seem to be better.

Try playing with the mouse a bit more to practice.

This weekend AW is free on PC so maybe you will see some more n00bs ;)

It does take some getting use to with new peripherals. If you have some money, maybe get a better mouse, and try that out.

Any recommendations that aren't too expensive? The death adder Chroma is the highest price I can really do, I've had a little look at the EVGA X5

What grip do you use? What country do you live in? How big are your hands?

To be honest I think a decent mouse would help. AKA don't blow a bunch of money on it. Just get something with good software to adjust the sensor and something that fits your hand really good. Even once you get a mouse that fits your hand, it will take a while to figure out what DPI is right for you. It will take even longer for muscle memory to kick in. That being said there are instance where a controller might be the better device to use for you. Personally I prefer racing, platforming, non combat horror games, and some games related to those types with a controller. Don't feel like you have to use a certain device. You want to play CS with a steering wheel? Go for it.

Mouse+kb versus controller is old debate and there isn't right answer for it. TBH, I think that if you are good with controller (and not using any aids) you can manage on PC with it. That is also bit game depended. I don't think you can achieve as much with controller on CSGO than with console oriented game like AW.
