"TI" on Graphics cards?

Hi,

 

I'm a new PC builder here and when shopping for a Graphics card for my build I was confused by the appearance of the term "ti" when referring to the EVGA GeForce GTX 750. ( here )  Could someone explain the term for me?

Means better than non ti.

For some nvidia gpus there is a "ti" version available (750ti, 660ti, 780ti, etc.). These are more powerful versions of the original one. 750ti/780ti is a bit more powerful than 750/780

750ti  is an entirley different gpu. 

750ti is build on the maxwell architecture which is far more power efficient than the 750. 

If you can strech your budget to a 750ti I'd highly reccommend getting that.

basically 780 TI > 780 -- that goes for all cards. ti just means it's a step up from non ti. a 650 ti is better than a 650 but not as good as a 660. ti's are in the middle.

As for the 750/ti yes, but sometimes it's even a different chip/memory interface etc.

 

 

Edit: nope sorry, 750ti has more cude cores enabled than the 750.

Most of the time, the Ti version is the same card with more CUDA cores activated. This improves the performance and makes it cheaper for nvidia to produce more cards.

 

The 750 has 512 and the 750 Ti has 640 CUDA cores which translates linearly into more performance. Also the 750 Ti has 2 instead of 1 GB of VRAM which can be useful.

also they pick higher quality chips from the bin overall. it's like nvidia titan grip or something, the logo is a hand picking the best chip out of a crate.

The 750 and the 750ti are both Maxwell cards.

They are both the same gpu, so both are maxwell, the 750 has less cores enabled than 750 Ti and usually half the ram.
