Do all wall sockets in America have an earth?

Night
Go to solution Solved by Godlygamer23,

Yes. That is the standard.

Im just about to buy an adapter for my trip to the states to charge my phone and what not. Ive found the USA adapter is two vertical pins with a cylindrical earth.

Is that the standard for all USA?

Just being paranoid. ^__^

It's the standard, and any new plugs will have it. The old version has just the two vertical pins, but that was a while ago.

Yes, it is the standard now adays, but you will still find some plugs without the ground(earth) so it would be better if your adapter made using the earth optional.

Not all of them do; all modern ones do, but you run into some older sockets without the ground.

It's still basically the same thing. Just without the ground.

Some older sockets don't have an earth but most modern plugs do.

Yeah, me neither. I used to have a few old extension cords with those plugs, and I never really liked using them.
