Got a Gtx 970 was running most games like bf4 and crysis 3 at 30-40 fps i don't know if this is because of my cpu a10 5700k or something else

You need at least an i5-4430 and a cheap H series motherboard to fill such a GPU in games.

I recommend you look for an i5-4460 and a cheap H97 motherboard.

If you have more budget than that, look for an i5-4690K and Z97 motherboard.

If money is really no concern then get an i7-4790K and Z97 board.

Thats pretty old APU, didnt had best CPU performance, id suggest top end i3 or FX 6300 to fully utilize GTX 970.

Even an fx 6300 would bottleneck it unless it would be overclocked heavily. And by then you could have gotten an i5 for a similar price.

FX 6300 wouldnt bottleneck it at all, dont be silly, or youre one of those Intel biased ones huh ?

I would say you're more amd biased than I am intel biased. Its been proven that in most games the amd fx series start to bottleneck higher end cards such as the r9 290/gtx 970. Only in games that are optimized for a higher amount of threads the fx series wont bottleneck that much but only a handful of games harness more than 4 threads.

i owned FX-8320@4.6ghz (proof below) with GTX 780 and the CPU was indeed the limiting factor in many if not most games...the framerates where lower across the board especially in regards to minimum FPS

And this was a GTX 780...not alone a GTX 970...and a FX6300...no good.

and quite often, even when they do run across all CPU cores the FX is still limited by it's slow threads, proof here:

All that beat 8350 are i7 which have HT and cost much more, so what was your point there really ?

The little APU is struggling to keep up with the 970.

A locked i5 and any H series board will do well. If you want you can get a 4670K/4690K and a decent Z87/97 motherboard and OC it a bit to help everything chug along.

Single core performance is far more important than multithreaded performance in the vast majority of games, this is why the 4690k destroys the 8320, even if they're the same/similar in rendering, in games.

Only games where i see Intel dominating over AMD are the ones that doesnt use more than 2 threads, in quad threaded games Intel's advantage is zero to none.

Overclocking FX chips doesn't make a huge difference for gaming since it's still limited by the slow L2 & L3 cache

his proof is just that he used to own an FX-8320, the post wasn't to compare performance
