Better?

This.

Kind of like, if we got enough money to buy and reopen it, you get have "stock" or % of the company equal to the % you donated?

That makes sence.

I need to do alot of research on everything before anything will happen.

If the kickstarter was posted on LTT, OCN, and other forums, i feel it could be done.

well question would be is my donation going to be an investment or just a plain donation? usually with these things once you surpass a certain amount you get something back once the goal is reached aka. frozencpu is back.

There would probably be some sort of investment/gift type thing.

since this is all theoretical, how much money do you plan on investing into this project?

I'm in a similar boat, as I would likely need them to co-sign some loans. It depends on the current owners asking price and the amount of people interested in purchasing FrozenCPU, but I'm completely serious about this. I will be listening closely the next few days to see if anyone from FrozenCPU can shed some light on the situation.

Yeah, have to figure out what is happening with frozencpu before anything can happen.

I'll try to go down to frozen CPU in the next few days and see if I can see anything happening, and update ltt.

still find it weird that just because the owner was addicted to something the whole company would just fall apart and vanish. there is more to it i believe, no one is revealing anything.

Yeah, im waiting to hear more developments.

You may not be fit to if you have little understanding of logistics and economics (I'm 17, am the same way as you) but if you have someone to help, it could work.

You'll need to know how to run a structured business.

Responsible LTT forum members should run FrozenCPU

The investor in me tells me that donating to such a cause would be futile and a money sink.

Responsible LTT members are not easy to come by, seeing our age demographic.

Very few on this forum have the training, skills and experience required to run a place like frozencpu. I wouldn't want 99.9% of anyone on this site (including me, and I've done this stuff before) anywhere near it. In fact, the only person that could actually handle the logistics of what they have would be Linus himself, and he'd probably hire the old NCIX crew to take over.

What if you were to start a kickstarter to get me a watch that costs less than $40?

EDIT: And maybe a 2.5" drive bracket and a 500GB Seagate drive for a scratch disk? Two projects take up a sizeable amount of space with all of the crap that was used... And they don't have that much going on in them.

Not sure how fit i am to own a company considering im 15.

But maby the rest of my fam...

You don't need to physically be there :P

Get some donations to hire workers, etc. Have some members of LTT forums volunteer for some functions.

Sorry guys get through Highschool first, learn all you can while you are in it, and maybe someday you can join/start your own company. I'm in college atm and understand far too well how business works.

Now to address jeraki, I'd personally love to be part of a company that I could fashion parts mail to HQ and get sent something for compensation as a side Job. Right now I stake our and merchant things and make some trinkets on the side- but i'd much rather do anything relating to pcs/modding. And that's how it would work...but lots to go wrong if people are unreliable.

well unless your parents are rich, I don't see this being a very fruitful endeavor.

according to google the domain is worth >$200k. Now I am no finances student, but I am pretty sure that the firm would be worth a lot more even if it was going bankrupt.

Linus ran logistics for NCIX. If you do logistics properly, there are only so many ways to do it for any company, especially when NCIX and frozen specialize in similar hardware/chains of supply and cater to the same market. Linus sure as hell would be in far better shape to run it than anyone else here.

i never said he wouldn't be the best around here, but I am sure there are more qualified people. Linus never managed the logistics of an entire company. The most he did was oversee one category, forget which one.

yeah, when something of this magnitude happens, there is more underlying

issues than "the owner is ill". this is a business for profit, and if there is no

profit to pay anything: supplier accounts, banks, and any debtors will have some

issues as any liquidation to satisfy any debts of the company will be first in line

to get a drastically reduced payout to the debt. in most cases, any/all locations,

inventory/fixtures will be auctioned off (not returned to the supplier for credit) and

all pooled to an account. then the priority assets will be proportionally refunded

to satisfy any debts. and when the assets are all sold off and any remaining

debt will just be forgotten.

would you reinvest in this? no, hell no. especially under the same business name.

failed businesses fail for a reason and creditors remember like the internet.

i have had my share of bankruptcy/liquidation issues with hundreds of thousands

of dollars of inventory to see $0.10 per dollar payback or none at all.

in the end, the court system and lawyers will have the biggest portion of the

settlement, then the banks, then the suppliers and lastly and open orders (doubtful).

so, really my feelings go out to the suppliers, employees and lastly customers for

this tragic happening. you'll need a minimum of 4-8 million to re-establish that

business to what is a $500,000 in gross sales annually (depending on location

demo/cost of commercial property).
