How do you take your PCs to LANs?

I lay it flat in the trunk and use Velcro spacers from to clamp the PC. They hold pretty good, I think people with a VW know what I am talking about.

i put it between the back seat and the front seat, on the floor, and then squish it (gently) in place with teh front seat

I have not been to any lans personally but I would probably take my laptop over the desktop.

We always have LAN's at the same friend's house, so I left my old computer there and just use it when I come over (which is very often)

Its powerful enough to play civ, csgo, etc

This is exactly what I do but my case is huge so it fits. Then I lay the monitor on the seat with pillows and a ninja to keep it safe.
