does running 2 monitors lower my gpu performance?

so i want to get 2 monitors but i just realized if i run 2 monitors at 1080p will my gpu run less?

like if i play bf4 on one monitor and and search the web on the other will my gpu split the load in half?

so would i be getting half the gpu power on one monitor and the other half on the other?

no, but you will get a few fps less in game, not a noticeable difference

A very minor performance hit, maybe a 1 - 2% performance drop. Nothing to worry about tbh.

 

Unless you're running an old 8800GT, or HD4870, or even older - it shouldn't be a problem.

Very slightly. Like 5 FPS max.

Looks like I have -1 FPS

My current build - Ever Changing.

Number 1 On LTT LGA 1150 CPU Cinebench R15

Keep in mind playing BF4 at fullscreen on one monitor will cause the other to blank out. Disabling desktop composition in the game .exe's properties might help if you don't want to play in windowed borderless.

I've never had that issue with 3 monitors and occasionally a fourth Which is quite odd.

You will not have split performance, the monitors only take performance as needed

It won't lower gpu performance in games IF you don't have anything running on the second monitor that uses the GPU.

If you have a movie playing or anything, or youtube, well you will feel that in games. But if the screen is doing nothing, the performance will be exacly the same.

Just don't worry, it will be fine.
