I leave it on because I want to keep them protected. Do you leave them on and why?

My friend leaves them on; on his SLI 970's because they don't look as good without the protector

Sort of, I have two connectors, but only one protector... :/ I've left it on the first one, but the second one is 'in danger' :P

I do that too. Dust can be bad for those ports.

No, I put an SLI bridge on it. And even if I didn't, that pale blue piece of plastic... At least some of the reason I chose my GPU would have been an aesthetic decision. Just leaving a lump of plastic on it would be like leaving the sticky protective cellophane on literally anything ever.

I leave them on, only because they make it look better and more clean. Protects them too as well since Im not doing SLI.

my reference card didn't come with protectors so...

My old 670 had black protectors which I kept on.  My 970 had ugly blue plastic ones in which I removed.

the current list of dead cards is as follows 2 evga gtx 980ti acx 2.0 , 1 evga gtx 980 acx 2.0 1600mhz core 2100mhz ram golden chip card ... failed hardcore , 1 290x that caught fire , 1 hd 7950 .

I left mine on, it's a nicer black rubber one. 

Am I the only one around here who really doesn't like pcpartpicker?
I also like Ubisoft and Origin/EA          Guess I'm just odd that way.

I would really appreciate to have 1 of these, especially the all black 1 that comes with the evga gtx 980's, can't seem to get My hands on 1.
