Adobe Suing Forever 21 for Pirating Photoshop

algoat

You know Adobe, does not to need new code they can just port the code to linux there is no need for hiring extra people. Who would use it on linux? i gues that 14000 people that had signed a petition against adobe.

Just porting the code isn't a thing. So under 20,000 I see. :P

Maybe adobe could make their stuff NOT ridiculously expensive. Not saying that I pirate it though, I just use free (and sometimes better) alternatives like GIMP

It's because you can't afford the software, sure alternatives might work aswell.

Or do you also steal expensive super cars because you can't afford them and a simple Honda would drive nice aswell?

I'm by no means condoning what Forever 21 did, but this is would be far less likely to happen if they priced their products reasonably.

But they don't care, software is really expensive to develop if you don't know that already.

Less than a dollar a day.

For a person that makes a dollar a month... That's kinda stupid.

Yes, but it gets to a point when the price just gets ridiculous, CS6 should not cost more than a 11-Inch 256GB Macbook Air

... Your comparison is invalid, you are talking about the intrinsical worth of the Macbook compared to a piece of software.

Your opinion on the subject doesn't change the fact the software is sold for that amount of money, the Macbook itself shouldn't be more expensive than a piece of software just because software is run on a computer.

"ridiculous price" is relative, if you can't afford it: Okay. But if the CS6 software costs 200Million to create and the lisence is for example more expensive than the Macbook that doesn't sound unfair to me.

Who the hell only makes a dollar a month and needs Adobe software?

Students aren't pennyless. They spend more on Starbucks than it's cost to buy a subscription to adobe products.

This^

Pretty much every creative software I know has special student prices or is free for students.

And Adobe products ar dirt cheap compared to something like 3ds Max that costs around $4.000.

To be fair, the free alternatives to 3dsmax are generally a lot better than Photoshop's alternatives.

Adobe: Why in the world would people pirate our software?

Me: Because everything you sell costs more than a computer to run it with?

Adobe: Oh.

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

So get a job.

"Things that cost money are too expensive for people who don't have jobs!"

is a really stupid argument to try and make.

It's less than a dollar a day for all their software if you buy yearly. So no no no no! No no no no!

Well, yes, but your argument would mean that you need to buy it at the end of the year, a.K.a. when the next one should come out.

You can't suddenly cough up the money you should earn the following year.

Oh, I was talking about CS6 :P

If my or your argument is right depends on what forever 21 used, CS6 (which would prove me right), or CreativeCloud (which will prove you right)

I clicked the link and it said 50$ a month. Also were talking cc products not cs6. Big difference on the pricing methodology.

First of all explain to all of us, how do you pirate a subscription based product? How does that work? I've tried Adobe CC, in order to use it you must first sign up, and then everytime you want to open up photoshop or what not, you're required to log in. Adobe is suing Forever 21 on pirating their software, isn't about Adobe CC, but other products that's not part of Adobe CC, like Adobe CS6. Thus the reason why I mentioned for a company such as Forever 21, who probably makes millions can easily buy that software and earn their money back in no time by selling their products. And here you are, coming in, telling adobe is cheap. Yeah they're cheap just recently, but not back then. The link on the side, it says $50 a month for Adobe CC. In the list, they are other adobe product that isn't subscription based and cost way more than $50 a month.

What your mind is thinking is the just on that Adobe CC that's cheap and everyone can afford it, but not the whole picture.

To be fair, the free alternatives to 3dsmax are generally a lot better than Photoshop's alternatives.

Not really though the other ones also costs several thousands and you can't use Blender if you plan on doing it as a profession.

Most people don't even need Adobe Photoshop they could just use something like GIMP.
