R9 290 or 970?

GodSpoon

Well thank you both for your input, I know the 290 overclocks pretty well, especially with a good cooler like the Tri-X for a good performance bump.

Most of the benchmarks id seen were pitting it around an upwards of 80%, but from what your saying it sounds even better

Just being clear here, this is the R9 290 NOT the R9 290x everyone :P

9% at 1080p and 2% at 4k (this is an average of like 17 games)

970 only really has 3.5gb vram.. i wouldn't be happy buying one. the r9 290 gives way better performance to cost price.. the x would be an even better version for about $40 more.

GTX 970 would be your best bet. Nvidia is currently working on an update for the Ram issue, GTX 970 uses way much lesser power and GTX970 is stronger and it gives you more technology such as DSR,MFAA,VXGI and more. Also, this card is a very good overclocker.

Find it out here :)
