Identity, The modern-day open-world MMORPG that you've always dreamed of!

XTankSlayerX

If this came out and was as in depth as promised, I would pay like £100 for that..

but im also 99.99% sceptical this could ever be made do this depth, they are also asking for barely ANY money

They already have some stuff working acording to squirel youtube video about this project. Have u played A3L ?

Im not sure if its gonna be so much better than it because i cant imagine thw mechanics and controls to do a lot more than A3L does already.

If they asked for more i doubt they qould reach the goal. They surely hope some sponsors will show up and take it where it needs to be at before release. 150k is pocket change for 30+ people team :/

So, fucking incredible game is being promised, but it's on Kickstarter and hasn't even reached their $150,000 CAD goal. Seems legit. Only takes $150,000 to fund a balls-to-the-walls amazing MMORPG? Bitch please.

If you'd actually read, it says that the $150,000 is to get started and to get noticed so they can get better sponsors. They're basically trying to "kickstart" their idea. Hence the name "kickstarter".

We need you! Identity is going to cost a lot more than $150,000 to produce; our Kickstarter campaign is a proof-of-concept to several investors and with its success we'll have the funding we need.

The 150,000$ is to get their idea out there so that they can get sponsors and more money so that they could build the game. Or, that's what I assumed.

Just to get the idea out there.

I've been wanting to create a game like this for a while now, except I would try get licenses to use real company names. Nice to see this being made, hopefully it reaches its goal and comes out well optimized and completed.

You can use real company names if you're mocking them. Satire is legal in basically any circumstance.

For example there's a coffee chain in the USA named "Bad starbucks" using all of starbucks trademarks. Totally legal

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

That's even worse! They'd technically have absolutely no obligation to the people that put money in. They could just say "Oh, we tried, but no one was interested. Sorry."

Boom. $150,000 gone from people, and the dev is $150,000 richer.

I'm pretty sure they also have a publisher so even if this didn't get too much attention (which it has) then they'd still produce the game. This is to help get started.
