what does ups stand for? what features should i look for? like joules? features that provide adequate protection for my spec? how long does it keep my computer running after power outage?

Universal Power Supply.

I really don't know, I have never had one.  The more power they store, the longer they keep your PC on after an outage and the more they cost.

where do i go to change my hdd to store all downloaded/transfer data?

Generally the last folder used for a download is remembered.

You can set the default by changing the target of the Downloads shortcut that appears in Explorer, under Favorites.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

I had to power off again, loaded into windows but this time a screen came up saying couldnt start last time and needs to scan and repair any corrupt data so i click enter. From there nothing came on. Don't get me wrong, but I find that funny.  You did a check on the OS SSD to look for errors and possibly caused an OS error with the check itself.

Just pop the disk in and restart.  Make sure the boot priority is on the optical drive.

Ironic indeed, im so mad all these is happening i just want to use my new build. So popping in windows7 install disk will format my ssd back to factory? I also want to clear/reset my bios settings see if it fix that frozen asrock screen with boot options. I see that in the manual i have a clear cmos button in the i/o panel. Does it reset/clear uefi/bios setttings too? The manual also state this feature is workable only work if computer power is off and unplug psu power. If no source of power is delievered to the mobo how will presing clear cmos button work? also my hdd has data in it will plugging it back after i restore everything work? sorry for all the questions and thanks again.

I know you want it to just work, and it really does.  These are your growing pains as far as setting up a build.  All of us that build PCs have gone through this...  made mistakes... got bad parts... etc...  It only gets easier to deal with problems as you, well... deal with problems.

Yes to clear CMOS you must remove the power cord from the PSU and wait for the Mobo to discharge any remaining electricity.  The button simply shorts the pins (with battery power I believe).

Your storage drive will be fine.

I also emailed asrock about this frozen boot screen issue. Its chinese new year and they wont be back until 3/2. What is that screen called? possibly bad mobo? hope clearing cmos will help, really dont want same problems again.

Why do you believe the board is bad?

Its realy confusing with uefi, cmos and bios. Will pressing clear cmos button also clear uefi/bios settings?

Does reinstalling windows will automatically format my ssd? do i need to format first?

Im thinking bad mobo due the way its acting and freezing on me with asrock logo.

I hope i didnt damage any hardware with the problems i have.

Yes you bios settings will go back to default.

When you reinstall windows, you will have the option to format the drive before installation.

How long was it frozen for?   The system could have been scanning the drive and just did not display properly.

i waited up to 10mins, black screen with asrock in the middle of screen with key button buttons that corresponds to he different boot/options. The screen just freeze there because pressing key on keybaord didnt do anything. It doesnt seems to scanning or loading anything is more of a boot screen asking for your input.
