Posted January 27, 2015 http://www.develop-online.net/news/unreal-engine-4-now-available-on-ouya/0202475 Epic Games adds support for crowdfunded microconsole Developers using Unreal Engine 4 can now build games specifically for Ouya. The Ouya team announced via the official UE blog that the latest iteration of Epic Games' powerful games engine now fully supports the microconsole. "The fork of the Unreal Editor has built-in support for the Ouya SDK from Blueprints making Ouya Everywhere and Ouya In-App Purchases available to coders and non-coders," the team wrote. Also available are documented examples for virtual controllers, IAPs and an Ouya-optimised version of the Tappy Chicken sample project. Developers will need an Unreal Engine subscription and their Unreal account linked through GitHub in order to download the Ouya fork of the Unreal Engine. For more info, head to the UE4 blog. Posted January 27, 2015 I'm sure it will run great on that blazing fast tegra 3 I mean Unreal Engine has always scaled quite well from lower end to higher end systems so there's no good reason for why it should run badly, it just won't look as good. Posted January 28, 2015 I really wanted to like the Ouya, but it just wasn't quite thought through enough. Maybe next time, with some beefier hardware to deal with UE4.
