Seems to work quite well actually.  It's no different than the headsets that have virtual surround built into them and Linus has said he much prefers that to actual surround headphones with multiple drivers.

This thing has done something wonderful with my Sennheiser HD 439. I could hear every single little piece of sound while playing BF3. And the main purpose of this SW - making a 7.1 sound - works like a charm. It just has to be heard once, it's undescribable.

People. Please, waste some time to configure the Razer Surround. It's totally worth it, believe me.

Turn off bass boost, I don't know why it's on by default.

I've been using Razer Surround for like 1 week now and I have a split opinion on it.

I consider myself a Audiophile guy although Im still using a dam Razer Carcharias (buying a SennheiserHD 558 soon :) ) with a Asus Xonar Essence STX and Razer surround sound good in some situations and sound really bad in others.

If you are watching a movie which is 5.1 or greater it will sound really cool and help get the movie to be more immersive but if you are using a Stereo signal it will mess it up really bad and sound crap. Another problem it has is that if you are using 2 applications at the same time where 1 is stereo and another surround the Razer Surround will be extremely confused on what to do, switching modes all the time which changes the sound dramatically.

So now if Im gonna watch a movie I turn it on, otherwise its off.

I wonder why ... hm  ;)

Well with my 80$ headset and my Xonar STX I felt a massive difference xD

Unfortunately since I have a razer megalodon they won't let me use it saying I should use the 7.1 emulation built in. Unfortunately the 7.1 emulation built into the megalodon sounds terrible! it's like you've got a surround sound set up in a bathroom it just has this weird echo to everything and seems to drop middle frequencies making things sound tinny and bassy at the same time. So I'd have loved to try this out but nupe. Thanks razer.

Been using it all day yesterday and now today and it's been working wonders in cs go scrims (using the Siberia v2)

@GoodBytes can't say it's had any adverse effect on my music :P

It takes way too long to process the sounds, it is completely off in Battlefield 3.

In all other games its ok but in BF3 its kinda weird.

Does this work well on speakers.

it should work but you need to have some funky positioning of them (but them in a line on the two side of your head )

(1) high frame rate (2) ultra graphics settings (3) cheap...>> choose only two<<...

if it's never been done then i'm probably tryna do it. (((((((Bass so low it HERTZ)))))))
