Is there a shapeable fine dust filter?

I have an NZXT Phantom 240 and I'm wondering if there is some kind of larger piece of fine dust filter (like a 12 inch square sheet) that I can cut to fit into odd shaped intake grills? The NZXT Phantom 240 has an odd angular intake on the front and I'm seeing the beginnings of it not filtering fine dust that has built up around the drive cage, and I'd like to rectify that as soon as possible. If that isn't an option, would it still be possible to use regular dust filters on the intake fans themselves instead of trying to cover the whole grill? Or would that not really do the trick? And would the filter even stay on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated here.

Pretty sure it should be okay, try filters from maybe a hardware store or whatever you can find that you can buy by the inch and cut it up.

Just use nylons (stockings). Ask your wife for some with a medium density.

This is not the most beautiful way, but it's the most customizable. You can put it in the inside, so noone will see this, also it's quite cheap.

Rly.

You are quite optimistic in thinking I have a wife (or girlfriend, ever), but I suppose I could buy some if it came down to it.

But, would buying some filters (as linked in the OP to the Sliverstone ones) work to be attached to the fans themselves? I'm guessing the magnets could attach to the screws, but they aren't flush with the fan so it wouldn't help at all with the air taking the path of least resistance. Or maybe attach at the back of the fan?

stretch them between the fans and the case, and just run the screws straight through them, if you're careful there should be minimal tearing. if the air has to come directly through the case it's got no choice but to go through the filter.

You'll need a density "30-40 den".

Filters from the stores (the Sliverstone or other) are usually mounted with the fan's screws (when u're mounting the fan); magnetic are fine too, if they don't come off.

Quite often it is just a thin metal net with cost about 3-4$ per 140mm each, you can spay anti static on it to avoid becoming a "lord of the dust rings".

I'm using the Fractal Design R4 with filters and I can't get rid of this dust ring, also one filter broke after washing (I have nice tap water lol).

The best part about using Nylons is they come in different colors.

Yeah, u got this point.
