Minecraft lags on $5000 !

Go to solution Solved by RZeroX,

Minecraft only runs on single threaded performance and your mods are causing this.

Before anyone starts complaining, I built the computer to play real games like witcher, crysis, far cry ect..

I like to play some heavy moddod Minecraft, I have a high quality texture pack (lb photo realism), and many mods..

And yes I have dedicated enough ram for it (I dedicated 15 gigs of ram), it usually uses 4-7gigs.. But it runs at frames of 35-50..

Comp specs:

i7 4930k @4.5ghz

DDR3 2666 32 gigs

Rampage iv extreme Black Edition

H100i

2x Asus ROG Matrix 7970ghz Plat

EVGA 1300w power supply

1080p monitor (I ordered Asus dog swift 1440p monitor, but it didn't arrive yet)

@just-cause999

1. Minecraft is terribly optimised

2. Minecraft doesn't give 2 shits about CF 7970

3. Get optifine Ultra

I could try it later on as my build is basically yours missing an extra graphics card.

I will tell you later since I am currently not home, but what I basically did was changes the core multiplier to 36 I think, and enabled some other options.. I'll tell you everything exactly when I get home.

Do you notice the difference the extra V-ram is giving you with the 2 cards?

(Clearly not in MC)

My cards have 3gigs ram each, and when you crossfire or sli each card copies the data to each ram on each card..my cards have 3gigs ram each, and when you crossfire or sli each card copies the data to each ram on each card.., so the ram doesn't add up.. But iI see a major improvement with 2 cards over 1

Your pc doesnt cost 5k .

Not even if you had gold watercool blocks.

Those GPUs are about 600 dollar max , cpu is about 330 bucks  yeah i dont see  where the 5k comes fronm.

Keep in mind you can do a rig with two 970s for about 1200-1500 bucks depending on the extra parts you put in( ssd , aftermarket cooling).

Crossfire mirrors the ram people.

This is common knowledge.

CPU: $550

Mobo: $500

GPU(s) $1100 (550 each) (got them when brand new)

Ram: 32 gig 2666 $350

900d: $300

1300w PSU: $250

Rog front base: $80

H100i: $110

Fans 12 of them: total of $180 ($15 each)

Black and red braided cables $50

Ram coolers: $50

Windows 8 pro: $120

Asus swift 1440 monitor: $800

+ perifs $370 (mouse, keyboard, mouse mat, mouse, headset)

Total $4810

Maybe the part that threw you off, is that I included my perifs and monitor..

And plus I got the parts when they were all new...

So please build me a better comp for $1200 with perifs and everything.. Good luck!
